Going strict to ensure cleanliness across the city, Municipal Corporation (MC) Commissioner Aaditya Dachalwal has directed the health branch officials to ensure cleanliness or strict action would be taken against the concerned officials. The directions were issued during a review meeting held by MC Commissioner Dachalwal at MC Zone A office on Wednesday. MC Joint Commissioner Ankur Mahindroo, Joint Commissioner Abhishek Sharma, Assistant Commissioner Neeraj Jain, SE Praveen Singla, CSO Ashwani Sahota, Health Officer Vipal Malhotra among other CSOs, CSIs and SIs participated in the meeting. The concerned Chief Sanitary Inspectors (CSI), Sanitary Inspectors (SI) have been directed to ensure that no resident or garbage collector should dump garbage on road sides or open plots. If required, challans should be issued against the violators on a regular basis. The attendance of sweepers should be checked on a regular basis and cleanliness should be ensured. Further, meetings should be held with the members of market associations and it should be ensured that no shopkeeper or vendor dumps any garbage on road after closing shops/vends. Strict action should be taken against the shopkeepers and street vendors, if they continue to dump the garbage on roadside. Strict directions have also been issued for regular lifting of garbage from static compactor sites. The staff of the firm managing the compactor sites was also invited to the meeting and they have been directed to ensure proper working of compactor sites. The damaged compactors at a few sites should be repaired at the earliest. Dachalwal further directed the health branch officials to intensify sealing drive against illegal slaughtering. The meat shop owners should be directed to get the meat slaughtered from the modern slaughter house of MC on Hambran road. Directing the Zonal Commissioners to monitor the situation in their respective zones, MC Commissioner Dachalwal said that he would also be conducting inspections in the coming days and strict action would be taken if anomalies are found at ground level.
