E-Sewa: Councilors to verify citizen services applications online

With the state government taking various initiatives for providing online services to residents, a special training session was organised for councillors imparting knowledge regarding online verification of citizen applications under e-sewa (e-services) portal. The training session was held under the supervision of Mayor Principal Inderjit Kaur at Zone B office of Municipal Corporation (MC) near Shingar cinema.  Councillors including Jaspal Singh Grewal, Sukhjinder Kaur, Gurmit Singh, Nirmal Singh Kaira, Gaurav Bhatti, Ravinder Kaur, Jasvir Kaur, Bhavneet Kaur, Ruby Goryan, Deeksha, Amarjit Singh, Sobha Sharma, Simranpreet Kaur, Nikku Bharti among others participated in the traning session. MC Zonal Commissioner Neeraj Jain among other officials were also present during the training session. The training session was held by technical team comprising of District Technical Coordinator Sohan Singh, Additional District Information Technical Manager Kanwaljeet Singh and Network Engineer Rishipal, System Manager in MC Manish Kalia among others. Divulging details, Mayor Principal Inderjit Kaur stated that the councillors would verify the citizen applications through an online system which further streamlines the process to deliver services in a seamless manner. The initiative has been taken by the state government to ensure hassle-free services for the residents. Under this initiative, routine applications like Residence Certificate, Caste (SC, BC/OBC) Certificates, Income Certificate, EWS Certificate and Old Age Pension Certificate etc will be verified online through e-sewa portal. The concerned Patwaris will send online applications to councillors for verification thus enabling them to verify applications of a person living in their ward online through e-Sewa (e-services) portal or WhatsApp Chatbot No: 9855501076. Mayor Principal Inderjit Kaur stated that this initiative will not only save the time of the public representatives, but it will also facilitate residents in getting their work done in minimal time. The residents would be able to get the certificates verified sitting at their homes. Similar training sessions would also be organised in other zonal offices of the civic body in the coming days. Mayor Inderjit Kaur stated that the civic body officials have further been directed to ensure that the residents get maximum benefit out of the welfare schemes launched by the government in the past.
