Ludhiana, March 3 (Rajkumar Sathi). With a massive cleanliness drive going on across the city under the guidance of Local Bodies minister Sanjeev Arora, MC Assistant Commissioner-cum-Zonal Commissioner (Zone B) Neeraj Jain conducted an inspection to monitor the ongoing drive on Tuesday. The inspection was conducted at areas around Cheema chowk, Samrala chowk, GLADA road near Vardhman mills among other areas. Zonal Commissioner Neeraj Jain stated that the cleanliness drive is going on across the city on the directions of Mayor Principal Inderjit Kaur and MC Commissioner Dr Neeru Katyal Gupta.
Jain further stated that the field staff has been directed to remove garbage from main roads, garbage vulnerable points (GVP), internal areas etc. Further the horticulture waste, if dumped on the roadsides, should also be removed. Further, the concerned officials have been directed to ensure proper working of static compactor sites and regular lifting of garbage. Jain stated that he would be conducting inspections in the coming days too and feedback would also be taken from the residents.
