BJP’s Anil Sarin Demands CBI Probe into Bagha Purana and Amritsar Incidents
Ludhiana, March 24 (Rajkumar Sathi). Anil Sarin, State General Secretary of Bharatiya Janata Party Punjab, raised serious concerns over an alarming incident involving an SDM from Wagha Purana, who reportedly wrote to the Chief Secretary highlighting threats to his life and severe mental harassment by political representatives. He noted that the letter, written late at night in distress, reflects the extreme pressure being exerted on honest officers and exposes the deteriorating administrative environment in Punjab. Sarin further referred to the tragic suicide of a Punjab Warehousing Corporation officer, stating that the deceased was allegedly harassed and pressured by a minister over tender-related issues. He claimed that threats were also extended to the officer’s family, pushing him into deep distress. Despite written complaints to senior authorities, including the Chief Secretary, no timely action was taken, raising serious concerns about accountability within the system. Criticizing the AAP-led Punjab government, Sarin said the state is rapidly descending into “jungle raj,” with law and order in complete disarray. He highlighted that incidents of extortion, murder, snatching, and drug-related deaths have become commonplace, instilling fear among citizens. He further alleged that, for the first time, a “government-backed extortion system” appears to be functioning, where officials are being coerced into illegal acts. The BJP leader demanded CBI probe into these incidents and strict action against those responsible. He also urged government officials to uphold the Constitution and resist political pressure, assuring them that the people of Punjab stand firmly with those who act lawfully and with integrity. District BJP President Rajnish Dhiman, District General Secretary Dr. Kanika Jindal, Sardar Narendra Singh Malli, Vice President Manish Chopra, Nirmal Nayyar, Treasurer Bobby Jindal, Press Secretary Dr. Satish Kumar, Saurav Kapoor, Parveen Sharma, Surendra Kaushal, Aman Kumra, and Arun Kumara were also present in this press conference.
