Mission Clean Punjab: MC Chief Alankar inspects Dhokka Mohalla, Field Ganj in a bid to ensure cleanliness, monsoon preparedness

Ludhiana, June 17 (Rajkumar Sathi). Continuing field inspections under ‘Mission Clean Punjab’ led by Local Bodies Minister Harjot Singh Bains, Municipal Corporation (MC) Commissioner Ojasvi Alankar conducted inspections in Dhokka Mohalla, Field Ganj and adjoining areas to ensure cleanliness and monsoon preparedness on Wednesday. During the inspection, MC Commissioner Alankar also reviewed the ongoing project to cover Dharampura drain/nullah and issued directions to expedite the project and make necessary arrangements before monsoon hits the city. MC Commissioner Alankar stated that with monsoon season around the corner, their focus is on making preparations to avoid waterlogging especially in the low lying areas in the vicinity of the Buddha

Dariya.Joint Commissioner Amanpreet Singh, SE Ranjit Singh, CSO Ashwani Sahota among other civic body officials were present during the inspection. MC Commissioner Alankar stated that desilting of Buddha Dariya is going on at a fast pace and extensive projects are also being taken up to clean the sewer lines in the city. All aspects are being covered to avoid water logging during the monsoon season. Speaking of ‘Mission Clean Punjab’, MC Commissioner Alankar stated that all the senior officials have been directed to move to the field to take stock of the situation in their respective areas. He has also been conducting field inspections and strict orders have been issued that no laxity would be tolerated in terms of cleanliness. Alankar stated that feedback is also being taken from the residents and strict departmental action would be taken if any anomalies are found at ground level in context to cleanliness.
