Ludhiana, July 20 (Deepak). A health checkup and eye examination camp was organised at the Water Treatment Plant (WTP) site in village Bilga (Sahnewal) for ensuring well being of workers. World class WTP is being established under the World Bank funded canal based water supply project for Ludhiana city.
The camp was organised by the Social Safeguard and Health & Safety departments of Ludhiana Urban Water and Wastewater Management Limited and the contractor firm. A total of 142 labourers/workers underwent general health and eye checkups conducted by a specialist team from Community Health Centre, Sahnewal. The medical team was led by Dr Kavita Kamal and Dr Namrata. Ensuring full compliance with health and safety protocols, the initiative was aimed to ensure well-being of on-site workers through early diagnosis and preventive care.
