Continuing drive against illegal constructions, the building branch of Municipal Corporation (MC) demolished two under construction illegal colonies in areas falling under MC Zone B. The drive was conducted on the directions of MC Commissioner Dr Neeru Katyal Gupta and the colonies were being constructed in Sukhdev Nagar and near Trikona park behind Onkar Vihar. Assistant Town Planner (ATP – Zone B) Nirwan stated that the owners continued illegal construction despite warnings issued in the past, following which action was taken against illegal colonies. ATP Nirwan further appealed to the residents to not to fall prey and enquire about the colonies before investing. He stated that the residents can visit the zonal offices of the civic body to enquire about the colonies. Meanwhile, the civic body officials appealed to the residents that they should commence the construction works only after getting the building plans approved from the civic body, otherwise strict action would be taken against illegal constructions.
