Expediting devp works, ensuring cleanliness, improved and hassle-free public services etc among priorities sectors, Appeal residents to support the civic body in keeping the city clean and green
Ludhiana, January 27 (Rajkumar Sathi). Dr Neeru Katyal Gupta, a 2016 batch IAS officer took over the reins as Commissioner, Municipal Corporation (MC) Ludhiana on Tuesday. Soon after assuming the charge at MC Zone D office in Sarabha Nagar, newly appointed MC Commissioner Dr Gupta held a courtesy meeting with Mayor Principal Inderjit Kaur. Dr Gupta also held a review meeting with the officials of various branches of MC.

Earlier MC Commissioner Dr Gupta was welcomed by senior officials of the civic body including Joint Commissioner Vineet Kumar, Joint Commissioner Abhishek Sharma, Assistant Commissioner Neeraj Jain, Assistant Commissioner Gurpal Singh, Assistant Commissioner Jasdev Sekhon among others. She was welcomed with a Guard of Honour by a contingent of the Punjab Police.

Dr Gupta stated that working under the guidance of Chief Minister (CM) Bhagwant Singh Mann and Local Bodies minister Sanjeev Arora, they will be working for overall development of the city. Bringing with her a strong administrative background, Dr Gupta stated that expediting development works, providing improved and hassle-free public services etc would remain among her priority sectors.

Meanwhile Dr Gupta appealed to the residents to support the authorities in keeping the city clean and green. MC Employees union- Municipal Employees Sangharsh Committee led by Chairman Ashwani Sahota also welcomed Commissioner Dr Gupta.
