The wait for the swimming enthusiasts of swimming in all weather conditions has ended with the state of art all-weather swimming pool of Municipal Corporation (MC) ready to welcome the residents. The Olympic size (in terms of length and width) indoor swimming pool has been established near Rakh Bagh under the smart city mission at a cost of around Rs 5.82 crore. MC Commissioner Aaditya Dachalwal conducted inspection at the modern facility alongwith other senior officials of the civic body. Cutting edge technology has been installed at the all-weather swimming pool. Filtration plant has been installed to keep the water clean and modern machinery/plant has been installed to maintain water temperature during all weather conditions.

The advanced technology and design allows year-round swimming regardless of external weather conditions. The officials stated that the length of the pool is 25 meter and the width is 12.5 meter, similar to an Olympic size swimming pool. The depth of the 5-lane pool ranges from 4.5 feet to 6 feet. This all-weather pool will cater to a wider audience, offering an enhanced recreational space for people of all ages. Measures have also been taken to ensure safety of swimmers. MC Commissioner Dachalwal stated that the all-weather pool is ready. The civic body would soon open registration for the residents. It is a modern facility and steps are also being taken for proper maintenance of the all-weather swimming pool. Meanwhile, MC Commissioner Dachalwal also inspected the ongoing works for establishing table tennis courts near Rakh Bagh and basketball court in Guru Nanak stadium and issued directions to expedite the works.
