 Ludhiana, July 25  (Rajkumar Sathi). The Ludhiana Management Association (LMA) successfully organized “Industrial Punjab 2.0: Vision, Reforms and Realities”, a high-impact dialogue aimed at exploring the opportunities, reforms, and ground realities shaping Punjab’s industrial landscape. The event commenced with a welcome address by Mr. Lokesh Jain, General Secretary, LMA, who set the tone for an insightful afternoon. This was followed by a contextual overview by Mr. Amit Thapar, President, Ganga Acrowools, who highlighted Punjab’s industrial contribution—28% to employment and 24% to government revenue—while acknowledging existing challenges, particularly in skill development. A distinguished panel discussion followed, featuring key stakeholders:
Ms. Seema Bansal, Vice Chairperson, Punjab Development Commission, Mr. Rahul Chaba (IAS), Managing Director, PICTC Ltd., Mr. Vaibhav Maheshwari, Member, Punjab Development Commission, Mr. Himanshu Jain (IAS), Deputy Commissioner, Ludhiana.


Key Discussion Highlights: Formation of 24 sector-focused committees to ensure policy is shaped by industry feedback. Skill development through the Dual System Training (DST) model in collaboration with ITIs.
FastTrack Punjab Portal and Invest Punjab’s unified framework have enabled faster clearances—83% of applications now resolved within 30 days. Compliance Reduction Process (CRP) has significantly improved the ease of doing business. Infrastructure and traffic issues in focal points were highlighted, alongside the Buddha Dariya cleanup initiative. Startup funding delays despite the presence of progressive schemes were noted as a concern. Each speaker contributed valuable perspectives as Mr. Rahul Chaba elaborated on policy and implementation dynamics, Mr. Himanshu Jain emphasized addressing infrastructure bottlenecks, Ms. Seema Bansal underlined the importance of data-driven and inclusive growth, Mr. Vaibhav Maheshwari provided pragmatic insights from an industry standpoint. The event concluded with an inspiring closing note by Ms. Harpreet Kaur Kang, President, LMA. Drawing a parallel with India’s football dreams, she remarked “We don’t yet have our Messi (MVP), but Punjab has ambition. Give us the right environment, and we will surely rock it.” As a gesture of appreciation, mementoes were presented to all esteemed speakers and the session moderator. This initiative reflects LMA’s commitment to driving meaningful conversations that contribute to shaping Punjab’s industrial future.
