Further intensifying the night patrolling for tightening noose around violators dumping garbage in open, Municipal Corporation (MC) teams issued challans to 36 violators in different areas of the city on Wednesday night and Thursday. Working on the directions of Mayor Principal Inderjit Kaur and MC Commissioner Aaditya Dachalwal, night patrolling team was led by Zonal Commissioner Jasdev Singh Sekhon. Challans were issued to the violators on Ferozepur road, near Pavilion mall, Rose Garden, Ghumar Mandi, Rani Jhansi road, Rakh Bagh, Fountain chowk among other areas. Awareness drives are also being conducted in the city. The residents are being encouraged to reduce, reuse and recycle the waste.

Further the residents are also being urged to hand over the waste to the garbage collectors or dump the same at the designated static compactor sites of the civic body. On Wednesday, Mayor Principal Inderjit Kaur and MC Commissioner Aaditya Dachalwal had conducted a meeting with the health branch officials. Strict directions have been issued to the officials to crack whip on the violators. Apart from issuing challans, FIRs would also be lodged over repeated violations by residents. MC Commissioner Dachalwal stated that rigorous efforts are being made to ensure cleanliness across the city. He appealed to the residents that they should also support the authorities by stop dumping waste in open.
