Ludhiana, June 15 (Rajkumar Sathi). : Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta launched a scathing attack on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and its convenor, Arvind Kejriwal, accusing them of widespread corruption and mismanagement during their ten years in power in Delhi. Campaigning in Ludhiana for party candidate Jiwan Gupta, the Delhi CM claimed new cases have been filed against Kejriwal and his team, asserting that those currently out on bail could soon be imprisoned. Gupta criticized the AAP government in Delhi for failing to present a single Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) report in the assembly over the past decade, unlike her own government, which presented six. She emphasized that “law will take its own course against corruption” and also pointed out former Delhi minister Manish Sisodia’s alleged failure to respond to summons.
Financial Misconduct and Broken Promises Allegations Mount
The Delhi CM detailed several instances of alleged financial misconduct. She highlighted the issue of stubble burning, stating the AAP government claimed to have a solution but spent a massive ₹80 crore on advertisements without developing any medicine. Similarly, she claimed ₹24 crore was spent on advertising for a single tower that cost only ₹2 lakh. She also mentioned a Delhi shopping festival that never happened but incurred ₹25 crore in advertisement expenses. “Kejriwal and his team believe in easy politics and spent hard-earned money of Delhi voters on their advertisement. Similar thing is happening here in Punjab now,” she asserted.
Gupta further alleged that Kejriwal, after being “shown the door” in Delhi, brought his “rejected ministers” and officers, who are out on bail, to Punjab, claiming they’re now enjoying benefits under the Punjab government. She called Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann a “dummy CM,” suggesting actual governance is directed from Delhi. She attributed Punjab’s current ₹4 lakh crore debt to the AAP government’s “wrong policies,” warning that Punjabis would bear the brunt.
Criticisms on National Security and Drug Menace
Gupta also took aim at Kejriwal’s stance on national security. She stated that while “every citizen of the country appreciated army for operation Sindoor, Kejriwal did not utter a single word in support of army rather their leaders made derogatory remarks against army.” She concluded that Kejriwal had failed to keep any election promises and therefore had no right to seek votes again. Turning her focus to the Punjab government’s “Yudh Nasheyan Virudh” (War Against Drugs) campaign, Gupta sarcastically remarked, “The AAP claimed to wipe out corruption from state, but they ran Chita express here instead of bullet train. Now chita [heroin] is available outside schools and in every village and town.”
Gupta Predicts Punjabi Voters Will Usher in Change
Rekha Gupta expressed strong confidence in the electorate of Punjab. She stated, “Delhi people took 10 years to send Kejriwal out of power, but Punjabis are wiser enough to make a good choice, and they have understood completely that time has come to give farewell to AAP government from here as well.” She predicted that Ludhiana West would serve as a “trailer” for the 2027 assembly elections, with voters electing Jiwan Gupta as MLA. Ultimately, she foresees Punjab electing a Modi government in 2027, ensuring all central government scheme benefits are available to the state’s citizens.
