The Private Hospitals and Nursing Homes Association (PHANA) Punjab successfully organised PHANACON 2026 at Hotel Nirvana, Ludhiana, witnessing participation from around 350 hospitals from across Punjab. The conference brought together hospitals and all major stakeholders associated with the Mukhyamantri Sehat Yojana, including the State Health Agency Punjab, insurance companies and TPAs, providing a unique platform for direct, face-to-face discussion on the practical challenges being faced by hospitals. Representing the State Health Agency Punjab, Deputy CEO Dr. Surinder Pal Kaur attended the conference along with managers and deputy managers. Ms. Shweta Goyal from United India Insurance Company attended along with her team, while representatives of Medi Assist and other insurance and TPA organisations also participated. PHANA Appreciates the Punjab Government and State Health Agency Dr. Vikas Chhabra, President, PHANA Punjab, and Dr. Divyanshu Gupta, Honorary Secretary, PHANA Punjab, jointly expressed their sincere gratitude to Dr. Balbir Singh, Hon’ble Health and Family Welfare Minister, Punjab; Shri Kumar Rahul, Principal Secretary, Health; and Shri Sanyam Agrawal and the State Health Agency Punjab team for their support and for deputing their senior teams to participate in the conference. The PHANA leadership stated that Dr. Balbir Singh, Hon’ble Health and Family Welfare Minister, and Shri Kumar Rahul, Principal Secretary, Health, had also been invited as Chief Guests for the conference. However, due to their pre-scheduled official engagements, they were unable to attend personally. Although the Hon’ble Minister and Principal Secretary could not attend personally due to prior engagements, their support and the participation of their teams reflect the importance being given to the concerns of empanelled hospitals.”» Hospitals Raise Issues Directly With All Stakeholders The conference provided an opportunity for representatives of approximately 350 hospitals to directly discuss issues related to the implementation of the Mukhyamantri Sehat Yojana. Important issues relating to claim deductions, claim queries, documentation, pre-authorisation, adjudication and claim processing were discussed in detail. The State Health Agency, insurance companies and TPAs assured PHANA that the concerns raised by hospitals would be examined and resolved wherever possible. They also assured that they would remain in regular communication with PHANA and hold periodic meetings with hospitals to address emerging issues. Appreciation for Streamlining of Payments and Rates PHANA Punjab also appreciated the efforts of the Punjab Government and State Health Agency in streamlining payments to hospitals and addressing issues related to scheme rates. The PHANA leadership emphasised that timely payments and transparent claim processes are essential for ensuring the long-term sustainability of the scheme and uninterrupted treatment for beneficiaries. Appeal for Free Treatment to Beneficiaries The State Health Agency also appealed to all empanelled hospitals to continue providing free and quality treatment to eligible beneficiaries across Punjab under the Mukhyamantri Sehat Yojana. PHANA Punjab reiterated its commitment to supporting the government in ensuring that beneficiaries receive quality healthcare without financial hardship. Future of the Scheme and Role of Artificial Intelligence The conference also discussed the future provisions and development of the Mukhyamantri Sehat Yojana, including the potential use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in claim processing and adjudication. The stakeholders discussed how technology can make claim processing faster, more transparent and efficient, while reducing unnecessary queries, delays and errors. Dr. Vikas Chhabra and Dr. Divyanshu Gupta stated that PHANACON 2026 was a landmark event as approximately 350 hospitals and representatives of the State Health Agency, insurance companies and TPAs came together on a single platform for direct dialogue. «“This was one of the most comprehensive stakeholder interactions held for the scheme, where hospitals could directly communicate their concerns to the authorities, insurance companies and TPAs.
