
Laxity in work to invite strict action; officials directed to monitor situation on daily basis
Ludhiana, November 12 (Rajkumar Sathi). Continuing the strict stance to ensure cleanliness across the city, Mayor Principal Inderjit Kaur and Municipal Corporation (MC) Commissioner Aaditya Dachalwal conducted a meeting with the officials of different branches of the civic body at MC Zone A office on Wednesday. Strict directions have been issued to ensure cleanliness, proper functioning of static compactor sites and regular lifting of garbage. Senior Deputy Mayor Rakesh Prashar, Deputy Mayor Prince Johar, Additional Commissioner Paramdeep Singh, Zonal Commissioner Abhishek Sharma, Zonal Commissioner Neeraj Jain, Zonal Commissioner Jasdev Sekhon, SE Sham Lal Gupta, SE Ekjot Singh, Health Officer Dr Vipal Malhotra among others were present in the meeting. Mayor Principal Inderjit Kaur and MC Commissioner Dachalwal further directed the officials to intensify the enforcement drive and night patrolling to stop open dumping of garbage and burning of garbage. Apart from issuing challans, FIRs should also be lodged against adamant violators. The concerned officials have also been directed to expedite the work of processing the legacy and fresh waste at the main dump site of the civic body on Tajpur road. Stating that no laxity in work would be tolerated, Mayor Inderjit Kaur directed the officials to monitor the situation in their respective areas on a daily basis. She stated that strict action would also be taken against the concerned officials, if they fail to ensure cleanliness in their respective areas. Mayor Inderjit Kaur stated that they have been taking stock of the situation on a regular basis and they will continue to conduct field inspections in the coming days too.
