Operation conducted under supervision of Jagraon MC and Ludhiana Rural Police
Jagraon, June 5 (Rajkumar Sathi). In a decisive action against illegal encroachment, the Jagraon Municipal Council, in collaboration with Ludhiana Rural Police, demolished an unauthorized property belonging to a man facing six drug cases in Gandhi Nagar, on Thursday. The operation was conducted under the supervision of Municipal Council officials and Ludhiana Rural Police, ensuring compliance with legal directives and maintaining law and order. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Dr. Ankur Gupta stated that the demolition followed a letter from the district administration which highlighted the Municipal Council’s report of illegal encroachment on its land in Gandhi Nagar, a known drug hotspot. The District Administration asked the provision of heavy police support to facilitate the demolition of the unlawfully constructed building.

Gupta also revealed that the property belonged to Buta Singh, a notorious offender facing six cases under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at the Jagraon city police station since 2019. He emphasized the Punjab Government’s zero-tolerance policy toward drug trafficking, stating, “Under Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s leadership, we are committed to eradicating the drug menace and protecting our youth. The SSP issued a stern warning to drug peddlers, urging them to abandon their illicit operations.
