Ludhiana, May 12, (Rajkumar Sathi). Shiromani Akali Dal candidate for Ludhiana West constituency, Advocate Parupkar Singh Ghuman, has alleged a multi-crore rupee scam being carried out under the guise of development projects initiated by the Bhagwant Mann led Punjab government in the run up to the by-election. During a live on-site inspection today at Block I, Advocate Ghuman exposed the substandard quality of a newly constructed road. The material used in the road crumbled at the mere touch of his hand, raising serious concerns about the integrity of the construction. When Ghuman attempted to question the officials present, including the Executive Engineer (XEN) and Sub Divisional Officer (SDO) from the Municipal Corporation, they chose to flee the scene instead of providing answers.
Advocate Ghuman condemned the state government’s biased approach, stating that senior officers and zonal commissioners have been deployed specifically in the West Constituency while other parts of the city are being neglected. He labeled this favoritism as discriminatory toward residents of other constituencies. He further accused the Mann government and administrative officials of acting irresponsibly and with ill intent. “If proper testing is conducted on the materials used in these so-called development works, scams worth crores will be brought to light,” said Ghuman. He also criticized the government for lacking a clear vision for the public and misleading the people through hollow promises and deceptive tactics.
